Braves, Astros Clinch Championship Series Berths

It has been a crazy week of Division Series baseball. Earlier today, we saw the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros clinch Championship Series berths, as they both beat their opponents. As I predicted, the Braves stomped all over the lesser Miami Marlins, as they swept them in three games, and outscored them 18 to 5 in that span. The Braves pitching was tremendous, as rookies Ian Anderson and Kyle Wright threw scoreless ball over almost 12 innings combined in their two starts. In the American League, Houston rolled over Oakland, as they won the best-of-five series in four games. Even though their starting pitching was nothing to write home about, other than Game Two starter Framber Valdez, the Astros offense remained red hot. Carlos Correa went 7 for 14, with 11 RBIs over the four games, and Jose Altuve went 6 for 15 in that span. The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays series is still going, as they are currently all tied up at two games a piece in the best-of-five series, with the final game being tomorrow. It looks to be a great matchup, as both squads will have their aces on the hill, with New York’s Gerrit Cole and Tampa Bay’s Blake Snell. The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to clinch a Championship Series berth tonight in the Senior Circuit, as they look to sweep three games from the young and talented San Diego Padres. These Division Series matchups have proven to be quite intense and competitive as expected, and we will see how these last two series will end by tomorrow night.
